Eclipse viewing equipment included a 3.5" Questar with a piece of paper mounted about a foot from the back.  A 32mm eyepiece was inserted into the rear attachment and focused on the paper to produce a view of the eclipse from both the front and back.  We were due for Christmas dinner at noon and there were to be many children of all ages there so I wanted to use a safe method of displaying eclipse.  Of course, the projection method works the best!

It's very cold outside, so we observed the start of the eclipse in doors using a projected image.

At Noon, we moved to a different location and I set up the rig in front of the door so that people could look outside through the window and still follow the eclipse.  The temperature was in the 10's F and it was not comfortable to be outside for any length of time.  That is, unless you are an Eclipse Chaser!
