Photographs taken from ship decks (3), hotel rooms (3), train compartments (4), and airplane window seats (3), during a round-the-world trip in 2017. The locations of the respective positions are given as coordinates, but to mention the names of the (non-)places I have been to, I will list them here in order of their appearance: Beijing’s Xicheng District, Hawaii, North Atlantic at N 48° 09' 41.09'' and W 37° 51' 42.44'' (where nothing is listed on any map I could find), John F. Kennedy International Airport, Xiyingxi in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, North Atlantic north of the Newfoundland Basin, Yanychi in Russia’s Perm Krai, a single yurt near the Sainshand Choir Highway in Mongolia’s Dornogovi Province, Lake Baikal near Listvyanka in Russia’s Irkutsk Oblast, Antibesskaya in Russia’s Kemerovo Oblast, Moscow’s Izmaylovo District, and Japan’s largest island Honshu (the illuminated cities are Kyoto and Osaka).
