May 30 1984 Annular Solar Eclipse - Medals for the annular eclipse were struck in brass and silver (shown) from the same design. Although the eclipse was considered annular, it was very close and has been called a beaded annular by some observers. The front (obverse) of the coin features an eclipsed sun with the artistic corona shining around the lunar disk. The reverse shows a map of central Mexico with the sun and moon. An unknown quantity were created, purchased from a seller of coins and medals in Mexico via eBay.
