The country of Zimbabwe was graced by two total solar eclipses to begin the new millennium (2001 and 2002). The eclipses left an impression on all who saw them. The following sculptures were commissioned by Eclipse-Chasers.Com from local artists in 2002. After a perilous journey from Zimbabwe to the USA where several pieces were lost to rough handling they are presented here for your enjoyment!

Each sculpture is hand made by various artists in Zimbabwe and unique. Shona art style often contains simplified animals and people. These are a rare exploration into the eclipse, symbols, and shared observations between artists and those in the bush.
