ZeitBall - This is the book that started the whole TIMEBALL-project (The german translation to the english word "time ball", which describes a semaphore that signals the precise time by dropping a tethered ball, is "Zeitball") and in the beginning, now more than a decade ago, it was planned to be an exhibition. I had intended to link my travels to solar eclipses with my everyday live, to draw lines between the mundane and celestial, thus creating a navigational space-travelogue for myself and open to anyone.

In the following years I realized that I would not really need an exhibition to present my private affairs with the universe and that the book alone would be a presentation of my life and thoughts in its own right, a manual to look up when something in the relationship between the world and me gets confused. Changes and updates will be made from time to time, so that someday I may catch up with myself.

2016 - Ten years after the first printing this is the third edition, revised and extended and put into a new form: As in the early days of the project, the pages are printed on single A4-sized sheets, which are held together by a spiral binding. This is the last version of this book, there will be no fourth edition in 2021. Maybe I could work on a book named Zeitball 2, but it would tell a different story.
