Total Solar Eclipse 2008

This eclipse started in the northern regions of Canada, passing into the Arctic and then swooped back down into Siberia and ended in China. The weather prospects for much of the path was questionable and eclipse chasers took to using a variety of options to be under the umbra. There was an eclipse intercept flight out of Germany to the Arctic, icebreakers in the Arctic Ocean, and a good number along the path in southern Siberia into China despite difficulties for many to get to those regions.
