1887 Total Solar Eclipse - A painting by Wilhelm Kranz, scientific artist of Prussia/Germany. That story goes that although Kranz did not actually see the eclipse at the location selected in northern Prussia (currently Poland), he added the eclipse based on reports from other observers. His location was near the sunrise part of the eclipse path and it was clouded out.
